Past Layouts

   04/01/06 - 01/07 » Version five of the LOVEppears Network, Nichi-nichi-so, featured the very talented and heavenly-voiced Japanese songstress BONNIE PINK. Working with the original image's colour palette, scanned from Bonnie's eigth original studio album Golden Tears' booklet, it was a very blue layout. I used a combination of iframes and frames again like the Vivian layout but this layout felt a little bit more confined. Nevertheless, I was mostly happy with the final result and, for the most part, still am.

   06/25/05 - 04/01/06 »Version four of the LOVEppears Network, girlTALK, featured the lovely 'Queen of Hip-Pop,' Amuro Namie. The whole layout worked around the two promotional images of Namie's 'Queen of Hip-Pop' album, and was featured on a red-violet colour palette. I used the screen blending property quite a bit, I liked the vibrant glowing-effect it had on the images. I also used the dissolve property fairly often, which is rather rare as it's not something I can use all the time, but I think in this case it was used appropriately. Overall, I was actually rather content with the end result, which is probably why it ended up staying up for such a long period of time.

   01/09/05 - 06/25/05 » Version three of the LOVEppears Network, Sidorbelli, featured the sexy yet adorable Asian sensation Vivian Hsu. The colour palette was composed of a variety of pinks, mostly light and soft shades, playing off the rather girly image of Vivian eating strawberries. Using frames made this a very wide layout, so it would be very compact in smaller resolutions and have a lot of empty space is larger resolutions, which is probably why it still bothers me to this day. The iframe held the pages well though, so overall it was a satisfactory layout.

   07/05/04 - 01/09/05 » Version two of the LOVEppears Network, FLYHigh, featured Japanese songstress, hitomi. The images used in the layout are from her Understanding single and her Love Life photobook. Using different shades of blue, layer properties, and a grungy displacement filter technique, this layout is one of ShuiMei's favourites, and like the previous version, managed to stay up for five months.

   03/28/04 - 07/05/04 » Version one of the LOVEppears Network, immature, naturally featured Hamasaki Ayumi. The images used in the layout are from a photoshoot for Zappy magazine. At this point, ShuiMei didn't usually use yellow or brown in her work, so it was a welcomed change. ShuiMei also experimented with a new dot-pattern technique throughout the whole site and ShuiMei thinks it turned out relatively well. Overall, ShuiMei is pretty neutral about the layout, but it is Ayu, so Shorty can't say that she hates it <3
